Nokia Siemens Networks Village Connection offers an easy concept to build rural connectivity village by village, enabling an innovative franchise-based business model between an operator and local village entrepreneurs.

The Nokia Siemens Networks Village Connection solution supports GSM based voice and SMS services, including roaming and connection to the outside world. A range of value-added services can be added, such as cost-effective Internet services in villages via the Internet protocol link.
Nokia Siemens Networks Village Connection comprises GSM access points located in villages and regional access centers. A village would typically host one access point module comprising GSM radio, power and IT hardware and software components. The access point only requires simple installation and powering can be done, for instance, by solar energy. Each access point connects to standard GSM mobile devices and autonomously handles calls within a village through local switching. Access points are connected via Internet Protocol links to a regional access center. The access center connects the villages to the main GSM core network and handles the calls between the villages.

The novel Nokia Siemens Networks Village Connection allows to transfer responsibility for network and business functions to a local level, building cost-effective connectivity village by village. It can employ local people to manage access within each village, or local entrepreneurs may license the mobile access rights for their surrounding area. The solution will be available in 2008.
mr.binkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17550607709679201806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4403793251125613822.post-83908713420764602512007-05-04T15:22:00.000+07:002007-05-04T15:41:12.447+07:00RIM Introduces the BlackBerry Curve Smartphone
Research In Motion (RIM) introduced the BlackBerry® Curve™ smartphone - the smallest and lightest full QWERTY* BlackBerry smartphone. In line with 3GPP requirements, this next-generation technology aims to provide a mobile broadband service that outperforms both 3GPP Release 6 HSPA, as well as current fixed line DSL data rates while maintaining and extending the highly successful mobility and coverage benefits of 3GPP networks such as GSM. 3GPP LTE/SAE networks are expected to enable lower operating costs for operators as well as higher data-rate, lower latency end-user services, and an improved end-user wireless mobility experience.

To meet these objectives, LTE radio systems are designed to provide both greater levels of radio spectrum efficiency through use of new radio transmission schemes and advanced multi-antenna technologies, and a more flexible utilisation of radio spectrum through support of carrier bandwidths ranging from 1.25 MHz to 20 MHz (subject to 3GPP ratification).

The companies participating in this initiative will collaborate on demonstrating the potential of 3GPP LTE/SAE mobile broadband technologies through a series of joint tests including radio transmission performance tests, early interoperability tests, field tests and full customer trials. Joint activities will commence in May 2007, and are expected to run for a period of 18-24 months.

The joint test results will be used by the participating members in ongoing technology developments and 3GPP LTE standardisation work, and will also help define and validate operator network launch plans. This initiative will also help validate the emerging LTE ecosystem including devices and applications, with a view to enabling commercial deployments in the 2009/2010 timeframe. If before I use GSM phone, Now I try to use CDMA phone and after have many selection, I choose Nokia 6225 phone. The feature inside this phone such as Dual band 800 and 1900, RUIM, SMS & MMS, FM Radio, Java Support, WAP browser, and bad result of VGA Camera. Well, my keyword to buy this phone actually just GPRS and Java, because with that I can do more...chating, browsing, emailing, etc.. And for the CDMA operator, I choose StarOne from Indosat, of course after learn and compare that. I follow the step to set up WAP connection and It's little hard to get connected. After connected to internet, directly try to download OperaMini application for browsing and Mig33 application for chating. But, I try many times using its application and still can't connected to internet, still error and error..Hmmm...what's wrong with it?? If browse with Nokia MiniBrowser still can connected, but if browse with Java application still can't connected!!!..

A few days after that, my friend SMS me. He says that this New Nokia 7370 Phone can't access mig33 application too!!..Oh ya, my friends buy new phone because his handphone lost too, same like me. Before it my friend also use Nokia and still can't access mig33.

Well, why so hard to make connection with Nokia java phone? Maybe the main reason is NOKIA!!! They have bad configuration for their Java Phone. Just compare with Sony Ericsson phone, I use Sony ericsson for long time a go and don't have a problem with it! If have problem, it's depend on cellular operator just like bad internet connection. It so easy and fast to run Java application, I feel satisfied using Sony Ericsson phone but still dissatisfied with Nokia Phone! According to my opinion, Nokia just have a high name, not high quality. For many products maybe big quality but of course very high price. How about you?

mr.binkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17550607709679201806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4403793251125613822.post-18271721865714466692007-05-02T10:10:00.000+07:002007-05-02T10:32:15.797+07:00SE W880i 24 carat Gold PhoneSony Ericsson W880i, the popular 3G walkman phone is indeed for sale in a 24 carat gold or pure gold plated version. While GSM operator start try to degrade tariff, but still not yet can defeat CDMA. But many consumer still use GSM because broader service reach and flexibility.
Now in Indonesia, there are four CDMA operator that is Telkom Flexi, Starone Indosat, Esia Bakrie, and Fren Mobile-8. From is fourth of the operator, Fren represent the single cellular license like GSM while other get license with fixed wireless telephone.

All operator offer cheap telephone tariff to same operator where only in gyration of thousands per hour. For example Starone to local call in same operator (on net) only Rp. 19 / minute, in one island only Rp. 16 / minute and interisland only Rp. 33 / minute. While Telkom Flexy give tariff Rp. 49 / minute for local call on net. Esia for the call tariff on net is Rp. 50 / minute and will become Rp. 1000 if abysmal 1 hour. Fren from Mobile-8 though cellular but also give competitif tariff that is Rp. 5 / 30 second for the minute of third and so on where two first minute Rp. 1.200 or Rp. 300 / 30 second.

But so, when compared to other state, telecommunications tariff in Indonesia still pertained is costly. Even in Japan now said have started there is free telephone with advertisement. That Hmmm... imagine it happened in Indonesia. Myself less knowing how much telecommunications tariff in other state, You know it? And if in Indonesia, which CDMA operator do U prefer?
mr.binkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17550607709679201806noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4403793251125613822.post-56223340181818834162007-05-01T15:44:00.000+07:002007-05-01T15:55:05.141+07:00New Nokia security appliances go deep to find threatsNokia announces two new IP security appliances, Nokia IP290 and Nokia IP690 security platforms, rolling out a scalable hardware platform design offering better IT investment protection and a greater choice of security software applications to address emerging threats to company networks and data. Nokia IP690 is the first new IP security appliance with a multi-core and multi-threading architecture optimized for performance and scalability, readying businesses for processor-intensive security applications. The new hardware design offers investment protection by extending product life from two years to an average of five years. Nokia hardware platforms purchased today are upgradeable when newer versions of the Nokia IPSO(TM) operating system are released, and Nokia IP690 is expandable through various interface cards and accelerated data path (ADP card) technologies. This expandable approach allows customers to retain their initial investment for longer periods of time by offering the flexibility to expand performance at their own pace.

Nokia IP290 combines powerful network performance with a compact ½ RU form factor, offering branch offices and extended enterprise sites a full-featured security appliance backed by Nokia global support. Expandable with an included empty PMC slot, Nokia IP290 ships with Nokia IPSO 4.2 and an updated architecture, making it a reliable platform for unified threat management (UTM) implementations.

Nokia security appliances detect and block the increasingly sophisticated threats companies face as mobile device usage among workers expands, and as new network traffic patterns alter business security requirements. Nokia security solutions use deep packet inspection to uncover vulnerabilities and provide protection against application-level threats in the perimeter, core and data center.
mr.binkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17550607709679201806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4403793251125613822.post-83487185396147155502007-04-30T16:37:00.000+07:002007-04-30T16:41:21.614+07:00Cisco 3G Wireless WAN High-Speed WAN Interface Card
The 3G wireless high-speed WAN interface cards (HWICs) offer a compelling alternative to traditional wireline backup solutions for the Cisco 1841, 2800 Series, and 3800 Series integrated services routers. When start launching, there are so many promotion program to get big response from consument. The promotion just like free video calling, free GPRS access, free mobile TV etc. Telkomsel as biggest GSM operator in Indonesia and as first operator held 3G claim that they successful get 1.6 million 3G subsriber in first four month. Telkomsel also record that mobile TV user almost 2 million hit and video calling in the last 2006 achieve almost 1.2 million. Really fantastic data for new comer in 3G. And as the result, Indonesia enter as big top 10 3G user in the world. XL, the second operator held 3G services also claim that their 3G user is 150 thousand, approximately 65 thousand using video call and 50 thousand active subscriber every day. Indosat, as the third operator held 3G services also claim that until January success achieve 3G subsriber until 45 thousand only from Matrix post paid card. The latest operator held 3G services is 3 from Huthison. Beside new 3G services, this operator also really new GSM operator in Indonesia. I still don't have data how much 3G subscriber from this operator because they just launch in one month.

From data, its show that 3G success and have good response in Indonesia. But, wait a minute. Because this is the data when they still in promotion time, so they have many free services and make consument love to try this. Now, after the promotion time is end except for new user, and for your information, Indonesia consument still love something free. We will know that the real 3G user not as much as the data. The common habit from Indonesia people is 2G, just phone calling and SMS. Only little consument who need data, video calling, mobile TV etc. major common user who need 3G services is from corporate. It's that why Indosat until now only held 3G for post paid user and corporate user and also other operator try to more focus in this market.

But, we don't make conclusion that 3G in Indonesia is fail. Because still half a year and maybe it need more time again in order to 3G services success in Indonesia. Unfortunalately, freshly 3G operate in Indonesia, now we hear new high technology called 4G or WiMax. Maybe, this technology will be officialy enjoy in 2008. This new high technology offer very faster data speed than 3G broadband. access reach until 50 km with transfer speed untul 70 mbps.
So, what about 3G? I think it's depend on government policy too. Maybe we can combinate 3G and WiMax because this technology still different. And the most important is, all operator will have a policy to make cheap tariff, good quality and services. Because for now, communication tariff in Indonesia still expesinve. If 3G handset and 3G tariff cheaper, maybe 3G will be success in Indonesia just like Japan. Who knows?
mr.binkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17550607709679201806noreply@blogger.com1
